About Me

This work of historical fiction is my first venture into writing. It actually started when I came across my father's passport while going through his estate. I knew he had traveled behind the Iron Curtain during his military service, but I never knew just how much he did. Of course, like many WWII veterans, when he could, he shared with us stories of his adventures and tight situations he often found himself in, while in East Germany and the Soviet Union. He even took his son's out with him as cover when he was doing some harmless tank counting and troop movement. It wasn't until I started doing research and speaking with other members of the USMLM, that I came to appreciate his efforts and realized the risks he took for his country. Much of his activities are still "top secret" making a biography not possible. I decided to write a novel that was historically correct and then insert a fictional character (Mac) into where my father would have been. Many events displayed involved my father directly. And of course many are fictional. Regardless, I hope you enjoy my book.
